I’m a enthusiastic student of life and explorer of what it means to be human. Everyday, I am in awe. Humans have been given this amazing planet to explore and interact with and millions of different opportunities to engage with deep emotions, beautiful scenery, and to interact with others in ways that challenge, motivate, inspire, and confuse us all at once. I truly believe that Earth is the place of forgetting and remembering. We come into this world forgetting we are Divinity itself and are gifted with an entire lifetime to remember, honor, and reclaim that truth. We are our own creation stories and both the stewards and the architects of this beautiful planet.
I am profoundly aware of what happens when we disconnect from our own inner light and forget who we are. I am profoundly aware of what happens when we are steadfastly trying to tend to our own light while we watch many passively, or actively, choose to remain lost in the shadows and falsehood of separation. It’s not easy remembering who you are. It’s not easy to honor it. It’s not easy to accept the responsibility that comes when you recognize you are Divinity in motion. You realize that you have both the power and the responsibility to create whatever comes next. It isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.
I grew up in my grandmother’s garden with her bleeding hearts, chickens & hens, and purple irises. I have fond memories of lying on my back in the soft green grass watching the clouds bend, fold, and shift with my little sister. The two of us twirling and whirling on our yellow rope swing- hung high between two oak trees by my Great Uncle Paul. My heart also recalls the fear and panic that can fill a young body as you watch alcohol uncover and amplify your father’s horrifying rage and watch as depression hides your mother away under rubble that deafens the sound of your voice. I have memories of what it is like to be your sister’s protector- to know that you will be okay, but that someone else’s tender heart needs extra care. I remember what it is like to feel different and alone, and like you aren’t meant for this world. Light and dark exists in every story, and so it does in mine. The trick, I found, isn’t to avoid the dark, to ignore it, or to hate it. The trick is to welcome it into the story, to see it, to thank it for its treasures, and welcome back into the Light.
I hold a Master’s in Community Development in Planning and deeply believe in the magic of community and the power of the collective. I know that no two people are, nor should they be, exactly the same. I know that each individual has innate talents, gifts, and curiosity that is meant to be nurtured and explored. I know that each and every soul has a purpose in this lifetime and a gift that they are meant to bring into this world. I know that gift is grand, and beautiful, and needed. It’s their soul’s calling.
I know that each time someone finds their soul’s calling, embraces it, and honors it they send a shock wave through the Universe. They change the story line. They make something bigger, brighter, and more beautiful possible, when it wasn’t before. And I know when the community comes together to support that calling, to protect it, to enhance it, and add to it with their own innate gifts, talents, and callings that something magical happens. Hearts begin to heal. Light begins to stabilize, and new beginnings become possible. As more and more people wake-up to their own Divinity and realign with their individual soul’s calling, the darkness that we are currently experiencing will be dissipated by our collective light. We can, and will, outshine the darkness, we just need to remember who we are first.
Who am I? A guide dog eager to help others to remember their power, wake them up to their own creation story, and remind them that they are not alone, but part of a team and a collective unfolding. A guide dog positioned to lead us all back to love and help us remember what it looks like, feels like, smells like and tastes like. A guide dog sitting patiently reminding us all to share our stories, to share our dreams, and to share our joy. I am a guide dog with a bit of coyote magic, here to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously, because as much as life is about growth and expansion, it is also about joy, wonder, play, and yapping under the moon. ❤
